Kathy was called to heaven on Christmas Day to be with Our Lord while surrounded by her family and close friends. At the age of 66 she lost her life to a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Kathy was born on January 23, 1949 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the third child of five born to Marvin and Betty Robinson.
Kathy grew up in the Riverside area and met her true love, John Harward, at the tender age of fourteen. She graduated from Lee High School in 1966, and then attended Beauty school. She married Johnny in the summer of 1967. By 1973, Kathy was blessed to have two children. With great entrepreneur spirit, and such talent in sewing, she started a clothing store, “Shelley K’s”.
Always being such a compassionate person, she desired to be a nurse. She worked hard to be the best wife, mother, and student, while attending Florida Community College of Jacksonville and graduated top of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University in 1995.
She was employed by Shands Hospital then Baptist Hospital. Her love for nursing led her to become an instructor at FSCJ in 1999 until she retired in 2013. All the while, being the Vice President of Parts Garage Inc., and handling all bookkeeping responsibilities for over 40 years.
Kathy had a strong love for her family and friends. Her true passion was spending time with her best friend (her husband), her children, and her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing, collecting bears, traveling, and planning traditional family events, including annual Halloween Parties, and Easter at the Lake. Kathy had an amazing talent for sewing and crafting. She was known for making special clothing and memorable items for all of her family and friends.
She resided in the Ortega area with her loving husband of 48 years. Survived by her husband, John Harward, Sr., her children Shelley Chaney (Chris Chaney) and John Harward, Jr. (Angela Harward), her grandchildren Anna Harward, Hunter Chaney, Emma Harward and John Harward III (JC). Sisters Shirley Walker (Tom Walker) and Jennifer Pearce (Jimmy Pearce), numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by both parents Marvin and Betty Robinson, siblings Buddy Robinson and Judy King.
