Fay Crimminger Lee died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at the Community Hospice Center for Caring at St. Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville, Fla. She was 96.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert G. Lee, parents, Allen and Evelyn Crimminger, and brother, Jimmy Crimminger. She is survived by her son, David Lee, daughter, Beryl Lee Adcock, and grandchildren, Rachel and Robert Lee.
Fay was born in Jacksonville on Feb. 11, 1920, where she raced through grade school to graduate at 16. She married Bob Lee in 1950, and after brief forays to Virginia, New Jersey and Rockledge, Fla., she returned to the city with her young family in 1965 and never left again except to take her many trips all over the country and to Canada and the United Kingdom.
She was renowned for her beautiful soprano voice and musicianship, her skill at gardening, needlecraft and cooking, especially baking, and her gift for friendship, which extended to all ages.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Church of the Good Shepherd, 1100 Stockton St., Jacksonville, FL 32204, with a reception afterward in the parish hall. Naugle is in charge of arrangements.
