Obituary for Kimberly Dawn Stordahl
Kimberly Dawn Stordahl, 46, passed away on October 20 after a valiant fight against ovarian cancer. Kimberly was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on November 20, 1969. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Erik, her parents David and Susan Siegmund of Fernandina Beach, Frank and Sharon Trujillo of St. Augustine, Tom and Cheryl Stordahl of Mexico; her sister Courtney McCranie of Fernandina Beach; three brothers, Dan McCranie Jr. of Fernandina Beach, Nicholas Trujillo and Francisco Trujillo of Denver. She also has many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kimberly graduated from the University of North Texas and earned a Masters from Dusquene PA, Community Leadership. She worked for several years as Food Service Manager at Notre Dame University but eventually found her life’s passion when she moved to Jacksonville. After volunteering at the animal shelter she saw the need to found the non-profit, The Old Dog House, a rescue organization that rescues senior dogs that otherwise would not be able to live out their lives with dignity.
Kimberly will be missed by all of those that loved her and many friends and associates that she inspired to be advocates for those in need.
